Rehabilitation of Suburbia - Collective Redevelopment of Foreclosed SFH Lots

These are short animations of the area I am developing for my thesis. The site is currently a green belt between two suburban neighborhoods: one Single Family Housing, and the other Multi-family housing. The two neighborhoods were separated by a narrow green belt, and a tall fence. In this scheme scheme, foreclosed Single Family Lots along this belt are used as filtering spaces between the two neighborhoods, and the former green belt separation now serves as a unifying element.

knotting ...

As designers, we knot physical and virtual places. Today we are all designers, we are all given the power to shape and mold our nooks, be it your bedroom or Facebook account, we all have the power to affect our  environments. Regardless of our background, we are all responsible for the creation and maintenance of our surroundings.

I believe architecture has this purpose and responsibility, of recognizing complex social, economic, and spatial realities, and responding accordingly. This blog is an iteration of my academic and professional work.
